Financial Aid
Dear Student and Parents,
The Department of Education will provide more than $83 billion this year, about 60 percent of all student aid, to help millions of students and families pay for postsecondary education.
High School Counselors, students and parents will want to see our online library.
If you are exploring options for paying for college, look at the information we have prepared for you.
What you will learn:
1. How to apply for Financial Aid.
2. The different kinds of Financial Aid.
3. Common myths and more.
Here is how you can begin. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid, (known as F.A.F.S.A.), IS AVAILABLE JANUARY 1ST OF EACH YEAR. It must be filled out by anyone planning on attending Oakwood anytime during the next academic school year.
Deadlines: Priority filer’s deadline for the fall is February 28th of each year. This means that a student must complete the F.A.F.S.A. and turn in all requested documents by February 28th. Priority filer's deadline for the spring semester is November 15th of each year.
- If you have missed the deadlines you will still be served, but you should note that the entire process could take from 6 -9 weeks.
Submit the FAFSA even if you have not yet received your Admission's decision or decided if you are returning to Oakwood. If your file is not completed by February 28th or November 15 of each year, then your aid will not be processed in time for Fall or Spring registration.
Respectfully Yours,
The Office of Financial Aid
