Institutional Effectiveness (IE)

Welcome to the Office of Institutional Effectiveness!  Our mission is to promote and support informed decision-making and continuous quality enhancement at Oakwood University.  We achieve our purpose by promoting exemplary Christian education and continuous improvement of programs and services.  In an environment demanding increased accountability and responsiveness, IE accomplishes the following:

(1) directs and supports ongoing, integrated, and institution-wide research-based planning and evaluation

(2) provides qualitative and quantitative information through accessing, collecting and analyzing data

(3) serves as campus liaison for accreditation issues

Purpose

IE provides assistance to faculty, staff and administrators in the following areas:
Planning and implementing university goals and departmental objectives.
Envisioning, documenting and promoting strategies for change.
Advancing and sharing knowledge about institutional effectiveness frameworks, principles, practices, and applications.
Supporting the institutional planning and budgeting cycle.
Coordinating the development of institutional and departmental performance measures, measuring progress toward achievement of institutional goals and publishing institutional research data.
Coordinating a university-wide network that links people to institutional effectiveness resources.
Accessing and sharing accreditation requirements and updates; monitoring compliance.
