Welcome! The Department of Religion and Theology is a specialized Christian learning community within the larger Christian learning community of Oakwood University. All members of this community are made in the image of God, which means that we were created with the ability to think critically, to make moral choices, and to live in relationship with each other. Like the covenant community of the Old Testament, we are joined in collective faithfulness to God. Like the New Testament believing community, we are diverse in our talents, roles, and perspectives, but united as one body in Christ. We have individual spiritual journeys, but shared responsibility for each other’s growth and spiritual well-being. We are fellow travelers and have much to learn from each other. God Bless!
