To give formal and public recognition for outstanding scholastic achievement, loyalty to university standards, and exemplary citizenship, the university conducts an annual Honors Convocation. To be eligible for participation the student must have a cumulative GPA of not less than 3.50 for a minimum of 24 hours earned at Oakwood College or a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and a minimum of 33 hours earned at Oakwood University. All grades must be posted by the end of January.

HONOR ROLL

• A minimum of 12 Oakwood University term hours
• A minimum GPA of 3.0
• No grade below a "C"  and no incompletes or deferred grades

DEAN'S LIST

• A minimum of 15 Oakwood University term hours
• A minimum GPA of 3.5
• No grade below a "B" and no incompletes or deferred grades

 Honors Status is based on a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above for a minimum of 15 to 29 Oakwood University semester hours, and a GPA of 3.25 and above for a minimum of 30 Oakwood University Hours and above. To be eligible for the Highest Scholastic Achievement Award in each area students must:

• Meet the minimum hours required
• Meet the minimum GPA required
• Must not have any deferred grades or incompletes

HONOR CLASSIFICATION LIMITS

Classification for honor students is based upon the following scale of total OU semester  hour limits:

• White Ribbon Medallion                      3.50  and above GPA and 15 to 29  semester hours
• Gold Ribbon Medallion                       3.25 and above GPA and 30 to 60 semester hours
• Blue Ribbon Medallion                        3.25 and above GPA and   61 to 92 semester hours
• Blue & Gold Ribbon Medallion           3.25 and above GPA and 93 (minimum) semester hours

Adult & Continuing Education Honors Criteria

• Blue & White Ribbon Medallion         3.50 and above GPA and 24 to 32 semester hours
• Green & White Ribbon Medallion      3.25 and above GPA and 33+ semester hours
