Spring Semester 2010: January 24, 2010 (See Student Accounts for payment of fee and the English department for registration, 256-726-7186) The English Proficiency must be taken and passed before the Graduation Application is accepted by the Records Office.

The application is processed in the Records Office. A copy of the status sheet is forwarded to your Department Chair for your review. See the Department Chair or Department Secretary for your copy.

Date: October 15th - See the Student Accounts and Purchasing Office). If fee is paid after this date a late fee will be added. Amount: Please see the Student Accounts regarding the amount of the graduation fee. If you are receiving a second degree an additional $35 is required. If graduating in Absentia and additional $45 is required.

Fall Semester 2009: August 19 – October 15, 2009 for Senior Presentation
Spring Semester 2010: January 13 – March 1, 2010 for Spring Graduation 2010

Honors: The cumulative grade point average (CGPA) is calculated on course work taken at Oakwood University through Fall Semester 2009.

Graduation with Distinction: ***Summa Cum Laude (3.90), **Magna Cum Laude (3.75), and *Cum Laude (3.50). The appropriate symbol is posted by the student’s name in the program.

Requirements:

You must have applied for graduation (AFG/FYS); application submitted to the Records Office.

You must have Academic Regalia (cap and gown).

(Only graduates are permitted in these areas and they must have their marching card in order to enter the lineup)
