The Department of Education will provide more than $83 billion this year, about 60 percent of all student aid, to help millions of students and families pay for postsecondary education.
If you would like to order your tax transcript, go to www.irs.gov and click on, "Order a transcript" You may also call 1-800-908-9946. Please make sure that any correspondence has the student's ID # and name to ensure that your information is processed as soon as possible."
Please be aware that you may also return to the FAFSA website and use the IRS Retrieval Tool to access your tax information instead of requesting the Tax Transcript. Using this method will speed the processing of your Financial Aid Award.
Please note that you will not be able to apply for the Parent PLUS loan until July 15, 2012. This is to prevent your credit check from expiring before the loan is disbursed
