An Extract from you Notes: the Oakwood Experience, pp. XII, XIII

Dorm life at Oakwood University holds for me many fond memories. Some of which are the International Socials, Freshman Talent Night, dormitory water fights and many other things. Like the initator of Love Notes Inc., students often battled with feelings of depression, personal pain, home sickness, and financial as well sa personal difficulties. "One activity," remarked Daly, "that helped me to overcome those feelings was Joy Notes Inc." My "secret organization of cheer," stimulated by a story I  read in the Guide magazine and a key fact of the Oakwood Experience. I am delighted to find that what started long ago as a way to cheer friends still continues on campus today. The lesson I learnt is in a quotation which says: "never understimate the value of a good deed" then use every opportunity to add joy to the world. Give hope. Give joy. God has promised "... I will make thee an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations" (Isaiah 60;15.)

Oakwood Flashbacks (JoyNotes II)
Joy Notes II,  “Flashbacks From the Least of These…” is a replay of actual childhood experiences that immortalize the earliest memories of Oakwoodites and reveal the earliest lessons that they have learned from the impact of their experiences. These flashbacks are individualized enough to stand on their own merits as sentinels, to remind
adults that children: remember early experiences –understand right from wrong – probe the minds of their parents and use various tactics to their own advantage. Therefore, it is most critical for adults to remember that these precious little ones are not dolls but real persons.

Joy Notes II, “Flashbacks From the Least of These…” documents the fact that the minds of children are imprinted with the earliest experiences from their environment and these imprints impact their mode of operation forever. Surely, life and learning spreads beyond the experiences and memories of childhood, and stretches out before us to the last breath of our earthly journey.

 Oakwood Wows (JoyNotes III)
Whoever could believe one question as the focus of a worship thought could bring forth such awe-insipring moments on what the Great Designer did in creating our bodies? "What part of your body awes you the most?" To this question, the responses were varied and brought to our minds the wonder of us created beings.

Oakwood "Wows!(s) from Designer Originals, Joy Notes 3, is a book dedicated to the glory of the Great Designer from His awkaened originals.

Surely, His love to us surpasses all our highest thoughts. Knowing what He has done for us pulls from our mouths the loudest "Wow!" Thus, each person, at some time is led to exclaim "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are Thy works and that my soul knowest right well" ... Psalm 39:14

May these reflections of this book stimulate you not only to read them and marvel at your wonderful body but also to take care of God's most precious gift to you and to the world.
