Approximately 50 people attended the Miss UNCF 2010 coronation event on January 17. Surrounded by well-wishers, friends and members of the J.L. Moran Chapter of the Oakwood Alumni Association, Miss Christal Williams was crowned as Oakwood University’s Miss UNCF 2010. Williams, a biological sciences major from Los Angeles, CA, is a senior. As the reigning Miss UNCF, some of her responsibilities include serving as a member of the Pre-Alumni Advisory Board, attending UNCF fundraising events in Birmingham and Huntsville, and media appearances.
Miss UNCF 2009 Melissa Phillips said to her successor, “As Miss UNCF of Oakwood University 2010, you will not only have the responsibility of representing Oakwood University to the other UNCF colleges, but also the responsibility of representing Christ to the world, a calling higher than any other.” Congratulations, Miss Williams!
