The UNCF Building Bridges to Opportunity Gala is one of UNCF’s signature fund-raising events and one of Huntsville’s premiere social occasions. It is hosted by the North Alabama UNCF Planning Committee and Oakwood University. Sponsors include local corporations, civic groups, the faith community, and individuals. Its purpose is to involve those who support the 39 UNCF member colleges and universities including Oakwood University and four other colleges located in the state of Alabama and to encourage the participation of volunteers, public officials and others who believe in the UNCF mission of providing college access and opportunity to minority youth.
