A new Customer Care Center has been established in the Blake Center Mall for the convenience of serving the customer service needs of the campus. The Center, which officially opened at the beginning of the Spring Semester, is under the directorship of Michele Solomon, and operates under the Provost's Office. As Director of Customer Care, Ms. Solomon will assist in the planning, development, and implementation of the campus-wide customer service improvement initiative that was introduced last fall at Faculty and Staff Colloquium.
The Center will focus on research, via surveys, for determining the areas of the University where employee development is necessary for improving the delivery of services to students, faculty, staff members, and campus visitors. In addition, the Center will serve as a resource for ongoing customer service information, departmental training, counseling, consulting, and improvement. Other areas of focus include support and consultant services to the VP for Academic Affairs in the development of online instructional materials and support services for the faculty.
