In celebration of our name change from Oakwood College to Oakwood University, we are holding a special campus-wide celebration on Tuesday, January 29, 2008, at 10:00 a.m., at the Oakwood University Church, 5500 Adventist Boulevard, Huntsville, Ala. Faculty, staff, students, administrators, and community representatives are welcome to join us in witnessing this momentous event in the history of the institution.
Refreshments will be served after the service in the University cafeteria at Blake Center. Festivities will conclude with a brief musical presentation featuring some of our choirs and musical groups, followed by a grand fireworks display at 6:00 p.m. at the Oakwood University fountain on Adventist Boulevard. Please plan to be with us to celebrate and commemorate this special day in the illustrious history of Oakwood.
