Festival of Spirituals V

Oakwood University invites everyone to one of the most spectacular musical events of 2008 to be held in Huntsville, Alabama at the Oakwood University Church, on Sunday, February 24, at 5:00 p.m., featuring Historically Black College and University choirs of international acclaim.

Appearing will be choral ensembles of: Alabama A&M University, Alabama State University, Fisk University, Miles College, Oakwood University, Talladega College, Troy State University, Tuskegee University, and the University of Alabama.  Also performing will be the Oakwood University Church Chorale, Excelsia, and the Lee High School Orchestral Ensemble.  Wayne Bucknor of Oakwood University will direct a mass choir of approximately 500 voices.  This same mass choir will also perform under the direction of Dr. Wayne Barr of Tuskegee University.

The public has been invited to this very special community event, and a ‘standing room only’ crowd is expected.  (That means, arrive early to get a seat and a parking space.)  There is no admission charge; donations accepted.
