College Days Visitors Tops 900
Jason McCracken, Director of Enrollment, reports that more than 940 high school students from the U.S., Bermuda and Canada attended the 61st annual College Days program at Oakwood University. The international prospective students arrived on Friday, October 3 and regular registration began on Sunday, October 5 in Blake Center. Each participant received a t-shirt, arm band and bag with materials to begin the event.
Sunday evening began with the praise and worship service featuring Dynamic Praise, the Aeolians, and Voices Of Triumph, followed by Pastor Bushner, Chaplain of Oakwood University. This was aired live on the OU website. Monday's events gave students the opportunity to listen to departments answer questions and visit departments in the afternoon. That evening 3,500 attended the freshman basketball game at Johnson High School. "College Days 2008" concluded on Tuesday during Chapel in the OU Church, with all the high school students dressed in their academy's uniforms followed, by a Union roll call by Elder McCracken, and conclusion by closing with "Jesus."
