Pastoral and Evangelism Council Calls for Commitment

The 29th Annual Pastoral and Evangelism Council, which began Sunday, December 7, at the Oakwood University Church, culminated just before noon on Wednesday, December 10, with a Challenge Message presented by Elder Roscoe Howard.  "Called to Commitment in Earth's Final Hour," was the Council's overall theme and has offered three power-packed days of sermons, professional seminars, and uplifting music.

Dr. Floyd Flake, pastor, community leader, and educator, was the keynote speaker and spoke following an inspirational mini-concert featuring Oakwood's Aeolians on Sunday evening.  Since 1975, Dr. Flake has pastored the Greater Allen Cathedral of New York in Queens, a ministry featured on the CNN, CBS, BET, C-SPAN, and PBS television networks.

General Conference President Jan Paulsen, delivered a powerful message on Tuesday, December 9, focused on timely issues.  The Council is sponsored by the Regional Conferences in the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists.
