Seven Finalists Advance to Final Rounds of Oratorical Contes

The preliminary rounds for the 2nd Annual Breath of Life/Oakwood University Oratorical Contest took place on Thursday, February 12, at Moran Hall.  An anxious group of 24 students began the first round of competition; 15 advanced to the second round. The following young people will advance to the final contest on March 12:
Marcus Cooper – Sophomore – Pre-Law

Philip Kerimah – Junior – Theology

Ryan Lang – Senior – Biochemistry

Bryan Lee – Senior – Biology

Maya Rutledge – Freshman – Communication

Latoya Smyphe-Forbes – Freshman – Social Work

Lynae Turner – Senior – Marketing/PR

Congratulations to our finalists, and we’ll look forward to the final round of competition on
Thursday, March 12.  The grand prize for the winner is $3,000 cash.  Special thanks to those who served as judges in these preliminary rounds.
