OU Responds to the Earthquake Disaster in Haiti

Huntsville, Ala. — Oakwood University is deeply concerned about the catastrophe in Haiti. As an institution, the administration and general campus family are mobilized to assist those who have been affected by the crisis. In particular, we will

1. Donate $10,000 to a disaster relief project in Haiti (OU is working with the Inter-American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church to facilitate the funds reaching the targeted area of need).

2. Assist OU students with Haitian citizenship to ensure that their educational journey is not interrupted by this devastating incident.

3. Continue to encourage faculty, staff, and students to give of their time, energy, and resources to assist in any way possible.

The Oakwood community, individuals as well as groups, will continue to support and pray for the people of Haiti in the challenging months ahead.
