OU Students Produce Video for Haiti Earthquake Victims
In March 2010, a group of approximately 51 OU students recorded a music video entitled “One Nation a Time” to pay tribute to the survivors of the massive earthquake in Haiti. The video includes footage from one of NAPS’ relief mission trips to Haiti. One of the writers of the piece, Dany St. Luc, says that the project began when Daryl Anderson, Jr., approached him about writing a song paying tribute to the victims of the earthquake in Haiti. “It really hit home for me since I am of Haitian descent,” St. Luc said.
Anderson directed the video, and wrote lyrics with St. Luc, Jason Jenkins and Donte Carr. Carr did the instrumentals in 15 minutes; and the recording process was completed over the course of two days. The students recorded at OU’s radio station Praise 90.1FM WJOU during Spring Break. St. Luc called it “a fun experience.” The video was highlighted on the local NBC affiliate (WAFF TV 48), has been posted on YouTube, and the song will be featured on Oakwood’s USM CD “Our Season, in his Time.” Included is a link to the NAPS website
