The Office of Personnel Management has approved Oakwood University's participation in the Combined Federal Campaign. It was a collaborative effort of the OU Office of Financial Affairs and the Development Office.·
The CFC is a wonderful avenue through which OU's federal alum employees can give to Oakwood. The kick-off took place on September 29 at the Redstone Arsenal, and will run through December. Oakwood University had a booth at the kick-off event this campaign year. The mission of the CFC is to promote and support philanthropy through a program that is employee focused, cost-efficient, and effective in providing all federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all.
CFC is the world's largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign, with more than 300 CFC campaigns throughout the country and internationally to help to raise millions of dollars each year. Pledges made by Federal civilian, postal and military donors during the campaign season (September 1st to December 15th) support eligible non-profit organizations that provide health and human service benefits throughout the world.
You can read more about it by visiting http://www.opm.gov/cfc/. This website will be of interest to anyone interested in workplace giving. It is tailored to meet the particular needs of the Federal donor, CFC Campaigns, and charities participating in or considering participation in the CFC.
