Departments face off in Junior Achievement of North Alabama Bowl-a-thon

Oakwood University will be participating in the Junior Achievement of North Alabama (JANA) Bowl-a-thon for the third consecutive year on Sunday, August 21, 2011.  This annual North Alabama event, which runs from August 19-21, raises funds for JANA classroom programs, through fun-filled community-focused activities with co-workers, friends, and family. The theme this year is “Rock N’ Roll Your Way to Success!”

Oakwood University is scheduled to bowl at Plamor Lanes on Sunday, August 21, beginning at 1:30 p.m. Palmor is located off South Memorial Parkway, in Huntsville. Faculty and staff members -- including OU President Leslie Pollard -- have been signing up and forming teams of four for the past several weeks in preparation for this event. These teams consist of members from various Oakwood departments who will face-off in three consecutive games.

You won’t want to miss the fun, and there will be a door prize drawing at the end of the event!  Family and friends are welcome, so come out and support this year’s Junior Achievement Bowl-a-thon.
