Evangelism Council: An Enriching Experience

The twenty-third Pastoral and Evangelism Council met this past December 1-4, 2002, at Oakwood College in the campus church. The event brings together hundreds of pastors, laypersons, and church administrators for a symposium on techniques of preaching and evangelism.

Sunday night, December 1, following a musical by the Aeolians and other artists, the council kicked off with a powerful keynote message by Dr. Timothy Clark, noted Church of God pastor from Columbus, Ohio.

Noted guests at the council included: Dr. Cain Hope Felder, Howard University Divinity School; Dr. Ganoune Diop, Southern Adventist University; Dr. Emory Tolbert, Howard University; Dr. Joan Francis, Columbia Union College; Dr. David Taylor, Loma Linda University; Elder Vern Parmenter, secretariat, General Conference; Elder James Nix and Dr. Ivan Warden, Ellen G. White Estate; Elder Don Schneider, president, North American Division; Elder Israel Leito, president, Inter-American Division; Elder Walter Pearson, Breath of Life; and Elder Wintley Phipps, U.S. Dream Academy.

Many other presenter joined in making this an event with a huge impact for pastoral enrichment. Thanks to all who made this another outstanding Pastoral and Ministerial Council.
