Market/Snack Bar Grand Opening

Friday, December 6, 2002, at high noon, a big, enthusiastic, and hungry crowd came together to mark the grand reopening of the market and snack bar. After an extensive $1 million remodeling job, the old market building had been transformed into a beautiful facility capable of serving a varied menu to hundreds quickly and efficiently (when the bugs are worked out).

The project has been a cooperative effort between OC and the Sodexho Corporation, which provides Oakwood's food services. Special thanks were extended to Sodexho representatives and Kevin Mills, head of OC food services, for underwriting the expense of the renovation. Members of the administration who oversaw the project were also recognized. Dr. Warren extended the welcome, Teleka Patrick gave special music, Elder Blue offered the prayer, and then the ribbon was cut.

The beautiful new facility has seen outstanding business since opening and is certain to be a great addition to the Oakwood campus.
